Service Description

This advanced program is designed for experienced improvisers ready to challenge themselves, refine their individual skills, and deepen their ensemble work. Through advanced scene work, detailed coaching, and personalized feedback, students will strengthen both their stage presence and group dynamics.
 Participants will be placed in troupes of 7–10 performers and will have the opportunity to showcase their work in 2 fully produced student showcases by Instant Theatre during the term. Ideal for those serious about taking their improv to the next level—both as individual performers and as ensemble collaborators. What You’ll Learn: -Refined Performance Techniques: Hone clarity, nuance, and stage presence. -Ensemble Collaboration: Deepen group connection through advanced scene work and exercises. -Character Complexity: Sustain rich, layered characters within dynamic scenes. -Versatility Across Formats: Apply advanced principles to a range of long form styles. -Growth Through Feedback: Receive individualized coaching to fuel continuous improvement. -Confidence & Precision: Build trust in your instincts and elevate your performance impact. Bonus: Enrolment includes a free student pass to all Instant Theatre productions during the course term. Meet Your Instructor: Jordan Wesley (he/him), is an improviser who has been performing and teaching in Vancouver for fifteen years. He began while studying at UBC with UBCimprov, and continued training and performing with Vancouver Theatre Sports League, Instant Theatre Company and Blind Tiger Comedy. He currently performs regularly with Vancouver’s Grad School Improv. Jordan has coached UBCimprov and CIG, as well as directing several shows a year with Grad School Improv. Accessibility: Little Mountain Gallery has varying levels of accessibility depending on the theatre space in use. Some areas are fully wheelchair accessible, while others may have limited access due to structural constraints.
