The Board

Ava (she/her) is a Vancouver based Iranian improvisor and producer on a mission to enrich and expand community within the Iranian diaspora. She is most passionate about facilitating improv theatre experiences for communities where they may not have existed in the past. Her creative and activist work takes place where themes of education, technology and politics intersect.

Del (she/her) is a seasoned Canadian-Iranian improvisor based in Vancouver, BC, with over 15 years of experience in improvisational theatre. As co-president of Instant Theatre Company, she has produced numerous shows that combine humor with social and cultural commentary. Del enjoys mentoring aspiring performers through workshops, and she values the supportive community within improv. Her work continues to influence both audiences and fellow performers.

​Malcolm (he/him) is a comedian, podcaster, and writer based in Vancouver. He has performed at JFL Vancouver, the Del Close Marathon, and VIIF as well as other comedy festivals. His most notable credits include working an understudy at The Second City Toronto, being a member of the Instant Theatre ensemble “Embezzlement”, and he is an alumni of Blind Tiger’s House Team program. He co-runs the monthly show “BloodFeud: Stand Up vs Improv” and is a cast member of Momentous Comedy’s “Dirty Little Secrets”. As a writer, his work has been featured in Critical Mass by Odyssey Comics and Containment Breach: Monsters, Beasts, and Bastards by Fugitive Poems. You can follow him on Instagram @malcolmrjmcleod.

Sinéad (she/they) is a queer filmmaker living in Vancouver, BC. Sinéad has over a decade of experience in acting, improvisation, writing, directing, and producing for film and stage, and has been awarded numerous grants for their storytelling abilities.

Montana (he/him), based in Vancouver, is an improviser with a background in theatre, puppetry, and storytelling. He trained in improv at two notable studios and studied under several prominent instructors. Montana has been a cast member in various shows, showcasing his versatile improvisational skills. Besides performing, he also teaches improv, sharing his extensive experience and diverse training with new students. His dynamic presence makes him a significant figure in the Vancouver improv scene.

Jullian (he/him) began improvising in 2004, performing in the Canadian Improv Games for Carson Graham Secondary, where he was head coach and artistic director from 2009-2022. He has trained and performed with Instant Theatre, Blind Tiger Comedy, and Vancouver TheatreSports, as well as with companies and festivals across North America. Jullian coached UBC improv from 2011-2013, was faculty at the Canadian Improv Games Improv University in 2016 & 2017, and delivers improv workshops internationally. He received the City of North Vancouver Outstanding Supporter of Youth Award and the Capilano University 50th Anniversary Alumni Award of Excellence for his work in teaching.
