Service Description

Explore the exciting world of improvisational theatre with our “Introduction to Improvisation” workshop series for femme identifying individuals! Designed for complete beginners, these workshops introduce the core tools of improv to help you shine on stage, boost your confidence, quiet self-judgment, and rediscover the joy of play. Led by an instructor from the femme community, each session offers a supportive space where you can learn, experiment, and connect with others while having fun. Join us and see how improv can empower you to embrace spontaneity, strengthen communication, and unlock your creative potential! This class will be taught by Ivy Padmos! Ivy Marie Clementine Padmos (she/they) is the Productions Director of Instant Theatre Company, is a queer multidisciplinary artisté hailing from the flattened lands of Calgary, Alberta. Plagued with years of improv experience, she one day woke up in a cold sweat and having broken through her feverish 'Yes And-ing', and faithfully pledged to put all of this knowledge to somewhat good use. Ivy loves to endow circumstances, mime windows, and frequently Lampoon's the Film Noir Genre with tasteless and wonderful homages to the likes of Citizen Kane. Now, armed with the learnéd ways of comedy houses far and wide, from the likes of The Improv Centre, to Spontaneous Shakespeare, to Tightrope Theatre, and finally, to her very own company, Espoused Productions, Ivy embarks on her most fearsome quest yet: Director of Production at Instant Theatre. Addled with the Improv contagion, and merciless in her ways of theatre, she welcomes you, dear reader, into the fray and into the fire. Come ye, and prov, all who enter here. Accessibility in the space: Accessibility at Little Mountain Gallery varies depending on the specific theatre space in use. Some spaces are fully wheelchair accessible, while others have limited access due to structural constraints. If you have accessibility needs, we strongly encourage you to contact us prior to booking so we can ensure the selected space meets your requirements. We are committed to making your visit as comfortable and inclusive as possible.
