Service Description

This advanced program is designed for experienced improvisers that have mastered their craft at the conservatory level and are ready to challenge themselves, refine their individual skills, and deepen their ensemble work. Through advanced scene work, detailed one hour per week one-on-one coaching, and personalized feedback, students will strengthen both their stage presence and group dynamics.
 Participants will be placed in troupes of 5–9 performers and will have the opportunity to showcase their work in 2 fully produced student showcases by Instant Theatre during the term. Ideal for those serious about taking their improv to the next level—both as individual performers and as ensemble collaborators. Meet Your Instructor: Nikolai Witschl (he/him), is an actor and improviser based in Vancouver who has been improvising for 25 years. He has performed with multiple improv companies including Rapid Fire Theatre, Instant Theatre, The Improv Centre, and the Spontaneous Shakespeare Company. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a BFA in Acting in 2010, and has been in various Film & TV productions, including Deadpool 2, Riverdale, Superman & Lois, Yellowjackets, and many more. Nikolai has also been teaching improv and acting for the past 10 years, with a specific focus on both short and long-form improv, as well as scripted work in both scene studies and filmed projects. Accessibility: Little Mountain Gallery has varying levels of accessibility depending on the theatre space in use. Some areas are fully wheelchair accessible, while others may have limited access due to structural constraints.
