Service Description
Level 3 is where your long-form training becomes full improvised stories. If you are comfortable in scenes and montages and now want to build entire shows with beginnings, middles, and endings, this is your level. You will get 30 hours of narrative specific training this term. 30 hours at this stage is enough to shift you from "I can handle scenes" to "I can help carry a full improvised story without guessing my way through it." Across 10 weeks you will focus on narrative longform: •Story spine and simple 3 act structures. •Openings such as monologues and living rooms that generate themes and ideas. •Time tools: flashbacks, flash forwards, and "meanwhile" scenes that stay clear. •Character webs and recurring relationships that deepen over multiple beats. •Callbacks and patterns that tie the show together at the end. We still use the 5Ws, but at story scale: Who – recurring characters with wants and perspectives. Where – a consistent world with locations that matter. What – story level activity and recurring situations. Why – a thematic or emotional spine guiding the show. Wow – bold structural moves and satisfying payoffs. You will rehearse and perform story focused sets, including a midterm show and a final showcase that usually runs 25 to 35 minutes. This level is for students who have completed Level 2 or who have equivalent longform experience, including some show time. Expect deeper notes and more responsibility to the ensemble and the audience. Format: 10 weeks, 1 class per week, 3 hours per class. Dates: Wednesdays; January 14th till March 18th Performance: 1 midterm show, 1 final showcase. Prerequisite: Level 2 or equivalent long-form training by instructor approval. Instructor: Jordan Wesley (read more about Jordan on our Instructor's page). To make training more accessible, students will be charged based on a 2x payment plan: $209.50 before the course begins and $209.50 after Week 5.
