Service Description
The Conservatory program is perfect for people who are committed to long form improv and are looking to take their skills to the next level. Improvisers will focus on complex scene work and character development as they continue to deepen their skills and techniques in different styles of long form improv. Students will be grouped in troupes of 6 to 8 individuals who will showcase their skills in two of Instant Theatre's produced student shows during the term. In this course, you'll learn: -Master long-form techniques: deepen your understanding of advanced improvisation principles and formats. -Create and sustain complex characters: develop layered, dynamic characters and bring them to life in captivating scenes. -Expand your performance range: build confidence and versatility by performing across a variety of improv styles and formats. Course fee includes a student's pass to all Instant Theatre produced shows for the term. Class sign up ends April 25th 2025. Monday Conservatory B will be taught by Zach Wolfman (he/him), who is an actor, improviser, and educator living on the traditional, unceded, and ancestral territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations (Vancouver). Zach has a BFA in acting and BEd from UBC. Zach has completed Canada’s national voice intensive, trained with Theatre for living, and studied clown with John Turner. Zach is a member of the Spontaneous Shakespeare company and Sin Peaks the improvised soap opera. Zach has been improvising actively since 2011 performing in improvised musicals, puppet shows, hip-hoperas, soap operas, and Shakespearean style plays.
