F/W24 Bekhand Cohort Program

Service Description

This improvisational theatre cohort is designed for players who identify with Iranian culture, have a foundational understanding of improv principles and are looking to deepen their skills and techniques within a group and individually. The course will focus on complex scene work, character development, and advanced long-form improvisation. Players will engage in rigorous exercises within groups and one a one-on-one basis to enhance their creativity and performance skills. Emphasis will be placed on sustaining longer narratives, exploring a wider range of emotions and characters, and refining the ability to perform in various improv formats. Players have the opportunity to be casted as part of Instant Theatre's Bekhand shows. Fee includes a player's pass to all shows produced by Instant Theatre for the term. This class will be taught by Del Hajipour, Co-President of Instant Theatre Company. Del Hajipour (she/her) is an experienced instructor with over 15 years of experience in the world of improvisational theatre. An alumni of the University of British Columbia improv club, she has trained and performed with numerous improvisational theatres and groups in Vancouver. Known for her direct and versatile teaching style, Del creates space for students to explore their creativity, take risks, and develop strong individual and group skills. Specializing in long-form improvisational theatre formats, she is dedicated to helping performers of all levels build confidence and embrace the joy of story telling.

To cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 7 days prior to the beginning of classes. Any classes cancelled after 7 days may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
